Everyone knows that the Draft is the highlight of the Fantasy Football Season, and here at The PFFL we are going to take the draft to a whole new level. We want the most strategic, fun and entertaining draft possible, and will be rolling out a number of innovative features to push the draft to a new level. While almost all of our drafts will be online-only, we'd LOVE it if you want to organize your own live draft. Interested? Let us know.

The PFFL uses an Auction-style draft. If you've never done an auction before, they are a ton of fun, and are much more strategic as well -- they say, "you can have any player you want, you just can't have every player you want." No more getting stuck with the 12th pick and watching all the best players come off the board...you get who you want.

Max Bid: $187
Players Drafted: 14 (required)
Nomination Order: First come, first served (stay tuned for details)
Duration: Just over 2 hours

Once the bidding begins, the clock will start ticking down from 30 seconds and anyone can bid on the player as long as they still have the budget available to make the bid. Within the last 10 seconds, any new bid will result in the clock being re-set to 10 seconds to give other players time to make another bid, and whoever has the highest bid when the clock finally expires will be awarded that player.

Once you have created an account and got your team, the last step is to find a league. Besides Tier-1, YOU will choose your league -- you will see when each league has it's draft scheduled, so make sure to pick a league that has a draft time you can make. We will be releasing the draft schedule sometime after the 2012 NFL Schedule is released, and will let you all know when it's time to Join a League.

If you want to get 12 guys together and have your own league, perhaps even do a live draft just drop us a line and let us know -- we'll set you up. We WILL have an option this year for you to create your own league and keep it together for the long run, and still have a chance to move up and win some big cash. For those of you out there that consider yourselves a "numbers guy/gal," this is one of the coolest parts about the PFFL. By leveraging the exact same rules over an increasingly large number of leagues, we start to see an actual market value emerge for each player. No other Fantasy Football analyst can have access to data this reliable and relevant to your draft because they are comparing apples and oranges across the different leagues. Starting in 2012, we will publish the result of each draft as it happens, so that later drafts can leverage PFFL-wide results to make their decisions.

It's never to early to start prepping for the draft, is it? Sure, you're a seasoned Fantasy Football player, and you're all ready for your draft, right? Well, have you ever done an auction-style draft before? Most people haven't, but even those of you that have are probably playing with new rules, new players, or new tools to conduct the auction. For you wussies and mama's boys out there, yes you can continue to do an online draft from the comfort and safety of your home. But for our elite players and the more adventurous of you out there, we've got something spicier in mind...PFFL Draft Weekend -- live in Las Vegas!

Anyone can join, but the plan is to hold our Tier-1 2013 Draft live as the centerpiece of the whole weekend. We'll also have as many "satellite" drafts (Tier-2, Tier-3, etc.) as possible, so as long as we can get 12 guys from your tier to come to Vegas, the saddle up! We'll grow bigger and bigger every year until the PFFL basically takes over Vegas on Draft Weekend -- just imagine "World Series of Poker" meets Mardi Gras meets Bachelor Party and you'll get the idea...
