It's Playoff Time, and we've got over $5,000 to hand out! Best of all, EVERYBODY has a chance at some of that cash, whether you're in your
League Championship Playoffs or
not! Now, besides the cash, the rubber's also hitting the road on what The PFFL is all about:
League Movement. Our four Tier-1 Playoff teams will stay put, the rest of Tier-1 moves down, so there are
8 spots available for our Tier-2 Playoff teams. 1st and 2nd Place in each league get to move up, which means that WINNERS in Week 15 are IN for Tier-1 2012, and losers will stay in Tier-2.
Keep up with all the Playoff Action over the next two weeks:
League Championship Playoffs: Check out the
full scoreboard. Remember, everyone plays a full 16-game schedule, so set those lineups on Yahoo even they don't show that you're playing a game!

Alright, now THIS is what The PFFL is all about! Once the season ends, The PFFL magic that makes this whole thing possible kicks in -- the winners move UP, and the losers move DOWN.
First, the good news: Since we only have two tiers right now, NOBODY in Tier-2 will be moving down.
2011 Tier-1 Teams: All four teams that make the Playoffs this year will stay in Tier-1 for 2012. The bottom-8 teams that miss the Playoffs will move down to Tier-2.
2011 Tier-2 Teams: The League Champion and the League Runner Up for all Tier-2 leagues will move up to Tier-1 for 2012. All other teams will remain in Tier-2 for 2012 and will not have to move down.
Remember those entry fees you all paid way back when? Well now is the time to watch those get paid out. We are all about prizes, and BIG prizes at The PFFL, and these prizes don't disappoint. Here are the official 2011 Prize Payouts for our League Championship playoffs:

For everyone that does NOT make the regular playoffs, don't worry! We'll keep things interesting for you right through Week 16. The worst thing in Fantasy Football is a quitter, so The PFFL Consolation Playoffs are designed to keep you going all the way through -- just because you suck right now doesn't mean you can't have a great run in Weeks 15 and 16.
Here's how it works: Everyone will play a regular game in Week 15 and Week 16 regardless of whether you make the Playoffs or not, and then the Consolation Playoffs run on top of that. What we do is add up your Week 15 and Week 16 scores, and the teams with the most points for those two weeks will win prizes.
Right now, we've got prizes for first place through fifth place, but we've got some announcements coming up to add even more prizes before the end of the season. Stay tuned!
As soon as the season is all over and we've tabulated ALL the prizes and passed them out, we'll reach out to everyone with money in their accounts to let you decide what to do with it. We can either make a payment to you via PayPal or via check, or you can just leave the funds in your account. Just let us know what you want to do and we'll take prompt action for you.
Now, what else can you do with your winnings? First, you should
renew your team for 2012. Next, you are eligible to take out one team for every tier you are eligible for -- Tier-3 is open now, so if you are in Tier-1 next year you could take out 3 teams...and we absolutely recommend that! Still got money left?
Give the gift of The PFFL. We'll give you your $5 referral fee immediately, so it's just $14.95. Remember, the bigger we get the bigger the prizes get, so help us grow and watch your prizes grow too!
Since we are playing on Yahoo, we are officially using THEIR rules for seeding and tiebreakers in 2011. Here's how it works:
Seeding: The winner of each division will make the playoffs along with one wildcard. You win your division by having the best record in that division, and the wildcard is given to the team with the best record who does NOT win their division. The team with the best overall record will be the #1 seed, and will play the wildcard winner who is the #4 seed. The other two division winners will play each other. Beyond that, we will rank everyone #5-12, and we will follow the same format for our "silver" and "bronze" playoffs -- everyone plays a full 16-week schedule.
Tiebreakers: For complete tiebreaker rules on Yahoo,
click here. Basically, for the division winners it goes by record, then division winning percentage, then total points. For the Wildcard, it goes by record and then by total points. Additional tiebreakers go by Week 14 score, then Week 13, etc. There is no consideration for head-to-head.
Tier-1 Playoff Update: Week 15
#1 Renton Raindogs (11-3) vs #4 Seattle Seahanks (8-6): The Raindogs have already beat the Seahanks TWICE this year, and have consistently outperformed them all season long. The Raindogs racked up 1283 points to just 1078 for the Seahanks, and were a fixture in the Top-5 of the Power Rankings all year long. But don't count out the Seahanks, who were the #1 overall team in The PFFL last year and finished with a perfect
Power Score.
#2 Insanity Escape (10-4) vs #3 TEAM KIZZLE (10-4): These two teams could NOT have taken more different routes to the Playoffs -- Insanity Escape mixed in HUGE weeks with some narrow losses and wound up as the top-scorer in Tier-1 with 1382 points in the regular season. TEAM KIZZLE did it with "defense," allowing a league-best 985 points while only scoring 1070 themselves. When these two squared off just two weeks ago, Insanity Escape nearly doubled-up TK 121-62...we'll see if that vaunted D can come through for KIZZLE in Round 1 or not!
Green League Playoff Update: Week 15
#1 Hot Meat Sandwich (12-2) vs #4 Jermaniacs (9-5): These two division rivals will square off for a third time this year, with Hot Meat Sandwich having swept the series in dominating fashion. Hot Meat has been the #1 team in The PFFL since Week 5, but in recent weeks has shown a few chinks in the armor. Nevertheless, with 1340 points scored on the season and the best record in all The PFFL, they are undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with. But Jermaniacs, who took over for the Houdini-like Moosepoops a few weeks back, have surged to a strong finish as they look to make a quick strike into Tier-1.
#2 Hot Karlos (9-5) vs. #3 Illegal Touching (9-5): You wouldn't call either of these squads dominant at any point this year, but both were consistent performers that survived tough divisional battles. In fact they are pretty evenly matched -- same record, and while Hot Karlos holds the edge in points (1222 to 1135), Illegal Touching won the head-to-head matchup 76-71 just two weeks ago. Both teams are also Top-10 in terms of team name rankings too...
Orange League Playoff Update: Week 15
#1 Marina Bay Slackers (9-5) vs. #4 Yehudi Menuhin (8-6): Don't call it a comeback! Both of these teams faced some long odds to end up where they did -- Marina Bay rallied from 2 games back in Week 11 to take the division outright, and Yehudi clung to a nearly IMPOSSIBLE scenario to nab the wildcard and had all the balls bounce their way in Week 14. Speaking of balls, or more specifically a lack thereof, Marina Bay Slackers are the only FEMALE entrant into the playoffs this year. When these two met back in Week 4, Yehudi spanked Marina Bay something fierce -- 116-73.
#2 Confused Octopi (9-5) vs #3 JustWinBaby (7-7): In stark contrast to the other matchup in the Orange League, these two teams definitely backed their way into the playoffs. Confused Octopi lost 2 of their last 3 games, and JustWinBaby has lost 3 straight. Bottom line: ONE of them is going to get into Tier-1 for 2012, so best of luck to both teams!
Red League Playoff Update: Week 15
#1 The Replacements (10-2-2) vs. #4 Your Baby's Daddy (10-4): Two of the hottest teams in The PFFL will be squaring off for the first time since Week 1, when Your Baby's Daddy took down The Replacements 83-68. The Replacements didn't do a whole lot of losing after that, and were just one of three teams across the whole PFFL to put up 1300 points in the regular season. Your Baby's Daddy was right behind them though with 1275 points, and has been on fire despite a bad beat in Week 14.
#2 Men on the Moon (10-2-2) vs #3 Mr. Miagi's Dojo (10-4): Ah, the ultimate grudge match! These two warriors have been going at it since their days on The Farm, and we fully expect fireworks here in Week 15. Frienemies though they might be, when it's time for Fantasy Football there's simply no love lost. Men on the Moon took their only matchup this year 98-83, so this rematch has been a long time coming.
Yellow League Playoff Update: Week 15
#1 Jurassic Pork (10-4) vs. #4 Prestige Worldwide 2 (9-5): The Yellow League features two matchups with two very wise owners. Prestige Worldwide 2 and Daewoo LAnos 2 are both 2011 Tier-1 owners, who decided to take out a second team in Tier-2. Both owners are OUT in Tier-1, but have a shot at getting back IN with their Tier-2 teams. Let that be a lesson to you all! Take out as many teams as you are allowed to! At any rate, Prestige is going to have to go through Jurassic Pork, who despite not clinching until after Week 14 decided to "rest his starters" and left Adrian Peterson in the lineup. Whoops. He got lucky, edged out a win, and now gets AD back (most likely) just in time.
#2 Daewoo LAnos2 (9-5) vs #3 Donkey Punch (7-6-1): Our other "crafty" owner, Daewoo LAnos 2 who is trying to stay in Tier-1 with their Tier-2 team advancing, is about to run into a buzzsaw known as Donkey Punch, who started slow but was absolutely on FIRE down the stretch, overcoming a big deficit in his division and winning a shootout in Week 14 to lock in the victory.
We are officially right down to it! And what a Week 14 we've got lined up this week -- here's where we stand: 12 teams are IN for the playoffs, 16 teams are still alive, and 32 are OUT. Now remember, if you are OUT, we've still got a ton of cash to play for in our
Consolation Playoffs, so keep yer chin up. For those that are IN or about to get in, we've got over $5,000 in cash to hand out, and 8 tickets to Tier-1 2012!
Around The PFFL: From the Red League where all four playoff teams are locked in, to the Yellow League where NOBODY has clinched, we've got all kinds of wild action coming up in Week 14. We've got a
play-in game for the Wildcard in Tier-1, a
play-in game in the Green league, and so many scenarios in the Orange and Yellow Leagues that we don't know where to begin.
We've updated the
Week 14 Playoff Picture, so say your prayers to the Fantasy Gods and good luck!
BEFORE we say anything, there's one big caveat to this week's playoff picture: there were so many really close games and ties this week that we're going to have to wait for the stat corrections to be provided by Yahoo before any of this is completely confirmed. Now, if everything holds up as it played out this weekend, we have six teams clinched for the 2011 Playoffs, including all three of the division winners in Tier-1. And with the exception of the Red League, we're all set for a WILD finish to the PFFL Regular Season.
They're dropping like flies -- 20 of our 60 teams are now officially OUT of the playoff hunt, so rather than give you some rah-rah speech about "playin' for pride" or any of that nonsense, let's keep in mind what really counts: there's a TON of money for our Consolation Playoffs on the line, and everyone plays a full 16 week schedule. Make sure everyone in your league is keeping things competitive!
We've updated the
Week 13 Playoff Picture for all leagues and it's going to be a wild ride the last two weeks. Check it out!
Upon further review, we DO have our first team IN for the PFFL 2011 Playoffs! Hot Meat Sandwich at 10-1 has clinched their division based on the division record tiebreak, and has punched his ticket to the Playoffs.
Only 3 new teams were eliminated from contention in Week 11, so that means 49 of our 60 teams still have SOME kind of shot, and of course everyone has a chance to win in the Consolation Playoffs if you miss out on your League Championship Playoffs. Don't let up!
Now, around The PFFL: Tier-1 is just about locked up in terms of the divisions, but the Wild Card race is WIDE open! 6 teams are separated by just one game. The Green League could be 99% locked up this weekend. Orange League has a hot Wildcard Race, Red is nearly locked up, and Yellow is WIDE open on all fronts.
We've updated the
Week 12 Playoff Picture for all leagues -- check it out!
We're down to just four weeks left, but remarkably
52 of our 60 teams still are in the hunt for a Playoff Berth, and nobody has clinched a spot yet. Now, we suspect that will change a bit after Week 11, but if anything we saw most of the Playoff Races tighten up with a lot of our top teams choking away an opportunity to start putting teams away. But as of now, NOBODY is safe, and the "second turning" of the Fantasy Football season is upon us coming out of the bye weeks.
Tier-1, as you would expect, has the most competitive of all playoff races, as all but one team still have a very realistic shot at making the playoffs -- and remember, only the top-4 teams in Tier-1 get to stay, and all the rest get relegated to Tier-2...not to mention there's a $1,600 top prize at stake! But there's a not-too-shabby $390 top prize for all our Tier-2 winners, not to mention a golden ticket to Tier-1 2012 for the top two teams from each Tier-2 league too.

Week 11 Playoff Picture for all leagues -- check it out!
